Our Favorite New Zealand Place is Not Real

Hobbiton, or technically the Hobbiton Movie Set is our favorite attraction in New Zealand. We are such big fans of the Lord of the Rings books and movies and this is the site of Hobbiton where Bilbo and Frodo Baggins both lived and set off on their adventures. Although it’s 100% not real, they’ve kept the sets and enhanced it so it feels like you are in the books. For our second visit here, we were lucky enough to find the 10th anniversary celebration for the movie “The Hobbit”, which was also filmed here. This included a wonderful meal at the Green Dragon Inn, a tour of the hobbit holes, and a screening of the first Hobbit movie. It was so cool to be at the party field at night. Magical!

Bag-End where Bilbo and Frodo lived. So nice with the lanterns in the evening. The Tree on top is completely fake but still looks great
The future is pretty cool to in Hamilton NZ. We had our first robot server bring food to our table. We are such a nerds, we loved it.
