Amsterdam! It’s OK.
We spent four nights in Amsterdam and maybe I was expecting too much but it was just OK for me. It does have a very large old town around the central canals which is beautiful. I know everyone likes the bikes but they are a public menace (said the grumpy old pedestrian). There are bike lanes on both sides of the street and the bikes are whizzing by in both directions. Seems very bike friendly but not so good with a couple of late seventy year olds.
