Venice So different but in a nice way

We thought we wouldn’t like Venice but we both really enjoy just being here. It is so different with no cars, mopeds, or bikes on the roads and dozens of alleys and bridges to explore. It has a certain elegant decay that’s charming to me :-). We had already done the Gondola thing and Murano so we did a few tourist things but just enjoyed walking around and staring out our windows at the canal when we were home.

The two windows on the grand canal is why we splurged on our apartment. Totally worth it to see gondolas, water ambulances, water police, and all other manner of boats cruising by day and night. Once we closed the windows it was very peaceful
We visited Burano which is famous for lace making (we liked the Brugge lace better) but it’s still amazing

We visited the Doge’s Palace. A ruler elected for life. Surprisingly Venice didn’t really have royalty

Don’t love St. Marks but I love the cool way his remains were smuggled out of Egypt (Look it up)
The food was better on this trip. Focaccia with Parma ham for KK
Our own small alley leads to our apartment
Venice just feels cool. I can’t explain it
