Dachau. Never Again.

I felt like a trespasser being in Dachau. I guess it’s important to see our failures. Dachau wasn’t the worst camp but it was the first. It was the blueprint for the more horrific camps like Auschwitz, Birkenau, and Treblinka. It was also where the SS men learned and perfected the business of brutality. These words and pictures do not suffice.

Such a simple white washed brutal place
At first they had beds with ladders. At the end they had 500 prisoners in a barracks with this
Five men are known to have survived for 11 years. 200,000 occupied the prison during those 11 years
These were the clothes they wore outside. Summer and winter
There were 34 barracks. There was a hierarchy. Jews and priests occupied the worst barracks in the back

The gas room was not used a lot but it was tested so 150 people died here
The crematorium ran 24 hours a day 7 days a week for years
