The Cornish Kingdom: Southwest England

Our last small trip before returning to London was to the region of Cornwall. Cornwall was surprisingly autonomous for much of Britain’s history. Cornwall even had its own language which didn’t go extinct until the late 1700s and is now revived. We had never been south of London until this trip so this was a new area to explore.

St. Michael’s Mount is very similar to Mont Saint Michele in Normandy France. In fact, it was built by the same order of monks
